François de Neufville, duc de Villeroi, Marshall of France
Prince Maximilian II Emanuel Wittelsbach
Elector of Bavaria
May 23, 2006 will be the 300th anniversary of the battle of Ramilles. This project re-fought this battle as a Military Miniatures Wargame at the annual gaming convention ENFILADE hosted by NHMG. This is held every Memorial Day weekend in Washington State.

In preparation for this project, we will be using many of the figures that were painted up for the Blenheim_2004 project. Where possible, we will substitute battalions for units of the same nation and color scheme as we already have. however, this game will se the use of the entire French Guard and Maison du Roi - here are 3 battalions of the 6 French Guard battalions - painted by Bruce Meyer.

To get an idea of the scale of the game involved, you can view the Blenheim game played in 2004.

Game Testing - Download the Rules
This site documents the attempt of my friends and I to wargame the battles of the War of the Spanish Succession during its 300th anniversary years. In the past few years we have games Friedlingen, 1st Hochstedt, 2nd Hochstedt (Blenheim), Schellenberg, Elixheim (Storming the limes of Brabant) and several small battles in Bavaria and Northern Italy.

We are just a few months away from Ramilles 2006 which will be games very close to its 300th year anniversary to the day. Battle of Blenheim (2nd Hochstedt) in the year of its 300th Anniversary, 2004

The game will be played on a 36 ft wargame table at the Pacific Northwest's Largest wargame convention, Enfilade. In order to prepare for this mammoth task this page will serve as a reference point for our progress.

We have developed our own set of fast play rules that capture the feel and flair for this colorful period.

The rules have been posted on this site when this link is active.

Wargamers interested in this period are also encouraged to try the following rules.
